Sometimes it’s good just to keep things casual; and that is exactly what we did for this family and their session. We walked their beautiful tree lined street and captured some perfect memories for them!
My day with Darryl and Lindsey began at Sunnidale Park in Barrie for their reveal. This moment is always one of my absolute favourite parts of a wedding day, as the anticipation you can sense in the groom is always the sweetest. Darryl picked a little flower to give to his bride right before she tapped on his shoulder. The second he turned around to see his beautiful bride, their day began and it was gorgeous from beginning to end. We had fun exploring this Sunnidale Park with their children and family for their photos before heading to the MacLaren Art Centre for the rest of their wedding day to unfold. Lindsey looked so classic and absolutely stunning in her Stella York dress purchased from The Gown, and with her strawberry blonde hair catching the light, she truly was a dream bride. Their boys played were a big part of their entire wedding day, and it was so sweet to see their excitement as the couple exchanged vows.

Their engagement session at Scotsdale Farm was the first time we actually got to meet in person! Alexis and Taylor’s relationship was a long distance one, with her living in Montreal and him in Barrie, so not only was I excited to photograph their session, I was also ecstatic to finally be meeting them in person! Alexis and I really hit it off when we connected about her wedding details over Skype, and I knew immediately that I was in for an amazing time working with them.
Besides having an obvious passion for photography, one thing you may now be learning about me is that I also really love interior decorating and design. At one point in my life it was something I considered studying and pursuing, but alas life took me in a different direction. We purchased this home last June (funny enough, our first anniversary in this home is also our due date), and have spent the last year overhauling it from top to bottom, inside and out. This bedroom is the smallest of three in our home, and if I decorated again I may have given the largest room to this baby as I’ve discovered that these tiny humans sure do come with A LOT of stuff.
My inspiration for decorating this space came from the rocking lion you see in the image above. This rocking lion is incredibly special to me, as it was hand built by my grandfather for my sister and I to use when we were children. It was the ONE item I’m really glad that my mother held onto for all these years, because now I’ll get to watch our son enjoy it as we did as children. Keeping with the “light and bright” feel of our home, I began shopping for pieces that spoke to my heart. Woven textures, pale woods, whites, cremes, a subtle hint of animals, and a hint of greenery fills the space.
One of these days I will get to blogging more of our home renovation journey, but for now this is a good start! I’ve left the links for as many of the items I can think of below, but if you have a question about where I sourced something leave me a comment or find me on Instagram {https://www.instagram.com/marandaelyssephoto/}
^ The stuffies were mine and Chad’s as children. The left named “bunny” (original I know, lol) was mine, and “Nunu” was Chad’s bear.

Wow!!! I am so glad you did a blog about this sweet baby boy nursery because I am now drooling over it! I love how it grew from the sentimental lion and that you have your original stuffed animals!! Your baby boy is so lucky to be coming hone to such a gorgeous and relaxing space! Beautiful!!!
Thank you Nicole!! I needed it to be a relaxing space for us both as I think I’ll be spending quite a bit of time in there, lol!
Hands down the most romantic first kiss of all time. Scroll down to see for yourself!
And that wasn’t even the most beautiful thing happening that day. On top of these two sweethearts saying “I do”, Kayla was secretly growing a tiny baby girl inside her tummy. She had everyone fooled with her “wine” she was drinking (it was fake, and even the saavy sneaky self that I am did not catch on)! Kyle & Kayla truly picked one dreamy event space and hosted their wedding at the Nestleton Waters Inn. It’s a stunning family owned property that is so classic and elegant, boasting the prettiest tent with the best view.
It was one of those days where we didn’t know what the weather would do, and for the entire day we got really lucky. While the officiant was sharing his closing statements to end the ceremony is began to rain. Some shrieks and laughter ensued, followed by the sweetest first kiss in the rain *swoon*!
