They celebrated their sweet son’s first birthday with a family photo session at Forks of the Credit provincial park in Caledon, and the only thing sweeter then their awesome coordinating outfits was their son’s ADORABLE smile. If you scroll alll the way to the end you’ll see my favourite image from their session; a cute little nose squish between him and his mama.
One of the most awesome parts of my job is having the opportunity to connect with other photographers and wedding industry professionals. Courtney is a fellow photographer, and if you’re a past bride you may even recognize her as she may have second shot your wedding with me! She is the talented face behind Precious Photography, a kick ass mom (to Avalyn and dog Oskar), a wife, and MY FRIEND!
I was sooooo happy when she asked me to photograph her beautiful family, and I didn’t hesitate for a second. I would have these folks behind my lens everyday if I could, and I think you’ll understand why I say that as you look through these images. The huge smiles and happiness just bring a joy to my spirit as I look through them again today!
We photographed these last November (yes, fall lives past September and October) at my always favourite golden hour at a trail in Richmondhill close to Courtneys’s husband Porya’s family home. The rich golden tones literally sparkled in the sunset and it truly worked out to be a great location for their session.
If you show up with your dog to your engagement session, you’re just my kind of person. So when Kyle and Kayla and I talked about their engagement session and they told me that they wanted to bring their dog Lucy, we were off to a great start.
We were on a hunt for a location that screamed fall, and we decided on Sheppards Bush in Aurora. It’s a beautiful public trail, and if you haven’t been I would definitely suggest going for a walk in the fall with a cup of something apple or pumpkin inspired! The ground was covered in orange and yellow crunchy leaves, and the smells of fall were in full force and it was a great place for their dog Lucy to zoom around. Most couples start their session feeling nervous or unsure of how to feel behind the lens, but these two warmed up quickly (especially once Kyle got to lay a bunch of smooches on Kayla, lol)!
A perfectly coordinated fall wedding at Hockley Valley Resorts Restaurant 85. When a sweet little email popped up in my inbox inquiring about an engagement session with their dogs (click here to see it), Ashley was already a girl after my own heart. Que their wedding day and throw in a lace gown, some Kate Spade sneakers, a love for fall, a donut bar, some serious attention to detail, and she’s basically my twin (lol)!
These two are as cute as cute gets and their wedding was so much fun to photograph. I was so glad they chose to meet for a first look as it’s always one of my favourite parts of a wedding day. My second photographer Courtney and I had to do some quick thinking as our original location wasn’t sheltered form the rain and we wanted them to be comfortable. Sure we had to dodge a few rainy skies, but look at those smiles and perfect umbrellas. We had a lot of fun cruising around Hockley Valley’s grounds for photos and the bridal party was nothing but smiles. Ashley’s dad even brought out his vintage car for a few photos.
I was blown away by all the details in their reception space. From the florals from Art in Bloem, to the baked goods made by family, and the cake by Crumb and Berry; it was cuteness overload! Ashley made all of the other details by hand including all the chalk board signs. Everything came together perfectly for these two and I couldn’t be happier for them both. Wishing you both many happy years together!
I’ve never seen a guy more in awe of his girl, then how Troy is with Kayla. The way he looks over at her is straight out of a fairytale, and was one of the first things I noticed about them when I photographed their engagement session. Well, the adoration for his beautiful strawberry blonde girl didn’t change on their wedding day. In fact, it enhanced.
Although they didn’t get the warm sunny day they were hoping for, they certainly got lucky with the weather for outdoor photos. They were patient as the rain poured down on their expected ceremony time, and delayed their ceremony while watching the skies in hopes they would clear. They cleared enough, and everyone rushed outdoors for their ceremony. Troy wasn’t giving up the beautiful ceremony lake view and I’m glad he didn’t because the setting was just so beautiful.
